As a landscape architect and citizen of the planet, Mark has long been an advocate for sustainable design. He believes that understanding natural systems, the way they function and how humans best integrate into them, is fundamental to good landscape architectural design, no matter the size of the site. Mark directs his work with GreenWorks to create a new ethic for how we embrace natural systems; one site; one neighborhood; one city at a time; a philosophy that begins with humans shaping their built environments to integrate into nature rather than reshaping nature to fit their built environments.
