Steven J. Kismohr

Steven J. Kismohr, AIA, LEED AP

From his early days as an Eagle Scout, Steve developed a strong interest in nature and the notion of “tramping lightly on the Earth.” Coupled with his professional career in architecture, he found himself drawn to sustainable design, specifically on energy reduction measures related to building envelope and design/construction. Steve’s passion for sustainable design has been influenced by a myriad of different experiences, which includes his work with non-profit energy organizations and his current role as Chair of the AIAChicago Committee on the Environment (COTE). He is determined to make a positive impact on the built environment to achieve the goals of the Architecture 2030 Challenge, contributing to a carbon-free world. When he’s not hard at work as a “green” project manager, Steve can sometimes be found in his basement feeding his indoor compost pile, cleaning the family hybrid vehicle, or tinkering with his bicycle for his daily commute.
