Buntine Presents Climate Responsive Design Strategies at West Coast Energy Management Congress

June 10, 2009  |  Long Beach, California
Venue: Long Beach Convention Center
Address: 300 E. Ocean Boulevard, Long Beach, California 90802

Buildings that respond passively to climatic cycles can help lower energy use intensity, increase comfort and make net zero energy performance a reality. The design process needs to change so that low impact solutions like natural ventilation, shading and passive thermal management are the default rather than secondary options. Chris Buntine, GreenWorks Studio, will discuss different approaches to climate responsive design and include examples of completed buildings in the U.S and around the world. Recommendations will be provided on how the design process can be improved so that these kinds of solutions have a greater chance of being implemented. View Chris’ presention in the attached PDF.
